ProGunWare.com Gun Hatred is not a Family Value

Frequently Asked Questions

  Are you guys insane?

We mostly hear that from members of the AGC. As usual, our answer is "No, but thanks for asking".

Whose family is represnted in the logo?

Families come in all shapes, sizes, origins and colors. Every American family deserves the right to choose whether or not they can rely upon themselves to keep evil at bay. The right to own firearms is an issue of human rights, social responsibility and self defense. The family in the logo may very well be yours or your neighbor's or that of your best friend.

Are you guys a bunch of wingnut NRA members?

A wingnut is someone who fears the presence of a defensive tool and is generally a person of cowardice who does not elect to engage in self-defense. But yes, we are NRA members. We also belong to the GOA, JPFO, FOAC and AAA. As AAA members, we are intelligent enough to realize that cars do not cause motor vehicle deaths. As NRA members, we are intelligent enough to realize that while it is a privilege to drive, it is a right to arm yourself for self-defense. Guns aren't bad. Gun hatred is bad for America.

Isn't this a bit over the edge and paranoid?

It depends upon who is defining over the edge. We think it is over the edge to make it legislatively difficult to engage in self-defense. We think it is over the edge to bring civil action against gun shops and gun manufacturers. We think it is paranoid to believe that good people owning and collecting firearms will somehow make them turn into vigilantes and marauding bands of miscreants.

This shirt is no where near the edge. It is planted squarely in the middle of the town square in a place of honor.

  Who are you mocking?

We are providing an intellectually honest alternative to the notion that guns can only be used for evil. If you feel as though we are mocking you, you should look inward and ask "why do I feel mocked by this shirt?"

Good luck.

How can you possibly think that guns in the home will provide safety?

During 2003, 24% of all violent crime incidents were committed by an armed offender; 7% by an offender with a firearm.1

That means, 76% of violent crimes were committed by an unarmed assailant. A whopping 93% of violent crimes were committed without a firearm.

Three out of every four violent crimes committed in the United States in 2003 were accomplished without a weapon of any kind.

So, it's not about gun violence. It's about violence. We live in a grown up world with bad people. Most bad people fear strong people who are not afraid to defend themselves. Bad people are comprised of those who abuse and those who enable abuse by working to convince people that knowing how to handle a gun safely will be of no viable use to them.

Don't believe us? Just ask JHO.

The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, NC, 04/10/03
"TMK", a Charlotte, N.C., man with a record of some 30 offenses committed over eight years, picked the wrong target for what would be his last crime. "TMK" broke into an East Charlotte apartment about 2:30 a.m. Resident "JHO", awake and armed, pointed a gun at "TMK" and fired at least three times, according to Charlottte-Mecklenberg police. "TMK" was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
TMK had an arrest record that spanned 8 years. JHO would have been another victim had she not resisted the scourge of gun-bias and possessed the courage to be armed. It is absurd to think that JHO could have prevailed without the use of a defensive tool. Shame on any person who would seek to prevent JHO and millions of other people from having the upper hand against violent predators.
